Jameson Burton

Hi there! I'm Jameson, and I've had a lifelong love affair with music that's taken me on an incredible journey.

My musical odyssey began in the picturesque town of Mountain View, AR when I joined the school band program in 8th grade. I started with the Flugelhorn and then ventured into the world of Mellophone and French Horn in the marching band. At the age of 15, I decided to take matters into my own hands and began teaching myself the saxophone. Simultaneously, I delved into a rich tapestry of folk instruments through the town's Music Roots program, mastering the guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, banjo, and tin whistle.

My passion for music continued to flourish as I rekindled the jazz band program's enthusiasm, this time as a saxophonist. I even earned a spot in All-Region competitions and secured a scholarship for the Athletic Bands program at the University of Arkansas, where I pursued a degree in Music Education with a focus on Saxophone and Guitar from 2006 to 2010.

From 2010 to 2012, I embarked on an exciting adventure, touring with a band as a guitarist, traversing the central United States.

My musical collaborations have included notable bands such as belair and KINGSDOWN, where I contributed my skills on the guitar, leaving my mark on works like belair's "Goodbye Catastrophe" and "MOVE EP."

In 2012, I transitioned into the role of a private music teacher at Palmer Music Company (formerly Preston Palmer Studios), a period that spanned until 2016. During this time, I conducted an impressive average of 40 private lessons weekly, working with students of all ages and guiding them in various instruments, from guitar, bass, and mandolin to saxophone, trumpet, accordion, and more. I even initiated a band program for homeschool students. Some of my students became proficient enough to follow in my footsteps and later became instructors at the same place where they began their musical journey.

My impact as a music teacher extended to helping students secure placements in All-Region, All-State, and scholarship-awarding music programs in colleges.

Throughout my career, I've been part of bands like Becoming Elephants, Cosmocean, Matt Stell, and Mayday by Midnight, contributing my talents on guitar, saxophone, and even as a lights technician.

As a composer and arranger, I started crafting music for schools, churches, and individuals, eventually making a name for myself as a Video Game Music artist. My solo music artist career also took off during this period.

In recent years, I've continued to teach music, including online lessons during the global pandemic, earning rave reviews from students around the world. I've also remained active in the OCRemix community, showcasing my saxophone and guitar skills.

In my current chapter, I reside in Gallatin, TN, where I teach music lessons privately and continue my work as a remote arranger. I'm thrilled to be part of The Alexander Lane Band and to host a monthly variety show at Prince Street Pizza & Pub as a house band musician.

My musical journey has been diverse and ever-evolving, and I'm excited to continue sharing my passion for music with the world. Let's create music together!
